旺福-在一起 (第二屆向上搖,海邊的卡夫卡) 2013.2.14 (by anguchen)
Let’s see: hippie wedding dresses on Mami and Twiggy, Xiaomin wearing a tennis outfit. Yep, another carefully crafted ensemble for Wonfu! =D
A while back, I think we posted a photo of the band rehearsing with a string section; they indeed have strings with them at this February gig at Kafka By The Sea. This is the only clip so far from this gig, I would really like to see more, if anyone has a link?

MURMURSHOW {第一集} (by 慢慢 説)
A long video from Freda Li and Murmurshow (利得彙 X 慢慢說樂團). Most of it involves some sort of skit with a stuffed toy, but there are 3 good songs performed by the duo. (1. @ 2:30, 2. @ 18:50, 3. @ 24:30)
No idea what the rest of the clip is about, maybe news about the band? Anybody want to make a report for fyeahcindie?

[魏如萱:翻譯的女人] – 09 我爸的筆 (by corinna520)
From her recent show at Legacy Taipei, here’s Waa Wei’s “Gangnam Style” version of My Father’s Pen, the bonus track off of Graceful Porcupine (2010). The audience recognizes the techno opening right off the bat, and then you can hear their surprise when the *lyrics come in. =D
The phrase that keeps getting repeated is the title: 我爸的筆 / Wǒ bà de bǐ the audience singing, ‘bǐ-bǐ-bǐ’.
[*Near as I can tell, the lyrics have something to do with losing her father’s pen, and her efforts to get it back. Please correct me if I am wrong!]

Waa Wei~My father’s pen, Tiehua music village, Taitung. 2011.05.15 (by u64011)
This is Waa Wei Ruxuan from 2 years ago at Tiehua Music Village, playing a humorous song from her 2010 album, Graceful Porcupine.
Next up, a crazy techno version of the same tune…
(But I want you to hear this version first!)

Following the previous post which showed Chun-yu Mu (慕春佑) from Echo (回聲樂團) playing her drums. It appears the band tore apart their old space and built a new studio. You can see the framing for the *soundproofing in one shot, and the exterior of an isolation booth. Pretty cool! *(They more or less made a […]

顯然樂隊 Obviously – 龍袍 (by kiddhome)
The band Obviously (顯然樂隊) from last night at SOUND Live House in Taichung.
The song starts 1:30 in. From what I’ve heard so far, I’d classify them in the dreampop/shoegaze area.
More songs from this gig to view, follow the clip back to YT!

‘King Ding’ and ‘Queen Carla’, last night at Legacy. I love the crowns!Ding Ding & Shi Shi (丁丁與西西)Queen Suitcase (皇后皮箱)
Hi there, dramarathon! Thank you for getting in touch, and for seeking out the C-indies!
A lot of the acoustic solo and duo things can be quite mellow, but I can suggest some rock things: Go Go Rise and Queen Wei (power-pop) Manic Sheep (dreampop/rock), P!SCO (dance-rock), Matzka (Reggae-rock), Hedgehog, Skip Skip Ben Ben and Carsick Cars (rock/punk) Queen Suitcase and Wonfu (throwback style pop/rock).
Then there are some things that are harder to classify, like We Save Strawberries, Yan Weiling & Utopia, No Money No Honey. Wow, I could go on and on!
Perhaps the best bet is to just skip around F Yeah Chinese Indie and randomly try some videos or audio files, without expectation. If you don’t like it, move on to the next thing, no worries! =D
