巨大的轟鳴 Gigantic Roar lyrics MV for American Fast Food, another song from their album, 老子有的是時間 Ain’t Got Nothing But Time, Son  Rapid-fire delivery from singer 王之佑 Leo Wang!

No idea what the lyrics are, but as an American, I can sum up our fast food in one word: poison.  0_0

I really love this, from Crispy 脆樂團’s 玩伴 ep (2015).

Same song I gave as a recommendation in the previous post, and it’s so sweet I insist you all have a listen!  =D

Yesterday was Skippy Lu 盧羿安’s birthday, and he posted something about preparing to record a new Crispy album (not imminent, but soon).  And the band are also going to be doing a show with Wen Chiang Liao 廖文強 & Bad Nerves Band/壞神經樂團. (June 9 for 台大畢舞見)

Ding Ding 丁律妏, you are so cute!    =D

hi! do you know of any bands that have musix similar to “10cm – what the spring” ? i really want to improve my chinese a bit by listening to some music but i can’t seem to find the kind i like to listen to.. thank you so so much in advance!

Hi there!      That’s a good question; I could list a few male singer-songwriter things, but perhaps not quite as smooth & mellow as your example song.

Dadado Huang Jie 黃玠 try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXPnsOBMrzY  (Waa Wei’s version is more famous: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w2JRvEoII8)

Hush Chen 陳家偉 or his band Hush! try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb8gjCg3Oac

Come on! BayBay! 來吧!焙焙! have many beautiful songs (sometimes male lead vocal, sometimes female or mixed/unison) This is delightful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU1ycnREsOA

You could also try Crispy 脆樂團, another mixed vocal duo, this tune is so sweet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj0p07TCR2E

Well, it’s so hard to match up band to band, but maybe this will at least get you part of the way there…   =D

Hi! My name is Nicole and I’m Mexican. I’m studying Chinese Mandarin for a year and a half and my favourite music is the indie so I love your blog and it helps me to study my Chinese :) But can you tell me like the most popular indie music in Chinese that I can find in Spotify? Because I can’t find any :c Thank you so much.

Hola Nicole!   =D    I’m glad you enjoy FYCI!    I just tried to search ‘chinese indie’ and got no results, lol.  But then I randomly searched for Hello Nico and they are indeed on Spotify; and I see other popular C-indies (HUSH, We Save Strawberries, Dadado Huang, Misi Ke) in the related artists. If I click on Dadado, then Waa Wei, Peggy Hsu, Sandee Chan, 929 pop up as well.  So I guess that’s the key: start with one artist you like and explore from there.

One more suggestion I have is the music player on the FYCI main page. 46 songs by 46 different artists. I don’t think you can see the music player on a mobile device, but if you visit from a computer, it’s a very good variety of styles from TW, China, HK.

I hope that was helpful. Buena suerte, Nicole!  =D

Spotify Taiwan has a great indie playlist called 獨立最前線, which is refreshed with the latest indie music.

I have also been slowly compiling a master playlist of indie music from Taiwan at 臺灣獨立音樂 Taiwan Indie.

Scroll to the bottom to see the new playlist links from @taiwantraditionalcharacters, thank you!    =D
