New MV from 妮可醬 NekoJam, song written by Molly Lin 林茉莉

They were a 5-piece garage rock band, but now they’re down to four, and they’ve kinda de-emphasized the guitar out of their sound, a heavier reliance on the synth and electronic beats.  They’ve got some photos and clips with JerryC 張逸帆 on guitar, I wonder if he played the guitar parts on the new ep?

Here they are at the ep launch in late May at Riverside Music Cafe, with JerryC on guitar, covering the Hebe hit, 小幸运.  (JerryC wrote the music):

Lots more live NekoJam at clw2ay YT channel.

I’m a little late to find out about this, but Molly Lin just linked to a crowdfunding for NeKo Jam EP/MV.  With 28 days left, they are 94% funded.  =D

Their HereO page The campaign started at the end of November.

All of their recent promo is just the 4 girls you see above; it looks like guitarist 江小薇 Vinny has left the band. Not seeing any announcement of her departure either.  Weird when a member just disappears like that, it only leads to speculation.

They posted a throwback photo:

This is priceless!   P!SCO preparing fans (’P!SCOer’) for P!SCO-5-FAMILY DAY (感謝祭2015) at TADA 方舟 in Taichung. I think this is for an instructional video(?).

If this is a gag, it’s a riot, and if this is for real, then it’s even funnier!  =D

All the other invited bands are making little promo clips; here’s NekoJam:

You’ll recall that Molly Lin (on the left) is the original P!SCO bass player.

A lot of nice C-indie things were posted to social media today, I apologize for filling up your tumblr dash, but anyway, here is a set of dance rock from 妮可醬 NekoJam, a super quality clip from Summer Super Slippa.

You probably recognize ex-P!SCO bass player Molly Lin 林茉莉, she rejoined/reformed the band after she left team P!SCO.  NekoJam were more garage rock originally, but they are about 50% synthpop these days, as the girls have been adding more electronic elements/instruments to their band.

Now, about that giant ‘Here I’m’ sign on either side of the stage.  Is that supposed to mean I’m Here or Here I Am?

This is a band called I’m not Dorothy (不是桃樂絲). I’m not exactly sure of the timeline, but they used to be called 綠野仙蹤樂團 (The Wizard of Oz Band). (with YT clips going back several years) Don’t know how many members carried over from the old to the new version. Actually, their English name was GreenField. That link is to their old blogspot home page, and it looks like the last post was early 2010.  You can see a beautiful photo set of GreenField by ciacia, at her flickr page.  Well, I’ve no idea if GreenField has something to do with The Wizard Of Oz, does anyone have a clue about that?

Anyway, they have several songs you can hear on StreetVoice, and their YT page has this MV, just posted a few days ago.   If you look carefully, the girl playing the lead singer of the fictional band (also called ‘GreenField’) is Molly Lin, the bass player from NekoJam 妮可醬. (and ex-P!SCO bassist) Very convincing, she looks like a lead singer!  =D

Al Chen’s YT channel has uploads of I’m not Dorothy from earlier this year at both Riverside Live House and Riverside Music Cafe, let’s take a look at a clip:

Dynamicbalancem aka Chen shot the above clip from P!SCO 5th anniversary show and 2015 regular season debut at The WALL. Party Star Show were there as well, slightly different angle. This is from the extended encore, I think:

A few things to spot:

1. a member of guest band Chiu & Love came out to scream along with the chorus. (Both YT uploaders have posted all 3 sets: Nightcap, Chiu & Love, P!SCO).

2. In the top clip, you can see a dude with a camera and a helmet cam (@4:32) in the middle of the slam-dancers; maybe he is filming this for the upcoming live dvd?  =D

3. In the 2nd clip, that’s ex-P!SCO bass player Molly Lin (now with NekoJam 妮可醬) back with the band for the evening, playing keyboard/laptop, and dancing along just like 2 years ago. Nice to see!

Crowd selfie from Misi Ke 柯泯薰 at Legacy Taipei on Friday. I missed her visit to Waa’s radio show on Wednesday, but somebody uploaded the audio to Dropbox, they had a very fun chat, with songs playing in the background.  =D

Promo with the 2 guest bands for P!SCO 5th Anniversary at The WALL: Nightcap (睡帽樂團) and Hip Hop ensemble Chiu & Love 丘與樂.

They printed up a new black jersey for their old friend Molly Lin, so maybe she’ll be rejoining the team again on Valentine’s Day:
