The trio Nasyy 南西樂團, with an uplifting tune that came out in November. =D

I think the lyrics (by singer Nana 何佳娜 Ho Chia-Na) are a mix of Mandarin and a few indigenous languages (Taiwanese, Amis, Hakka,.  (you can read the lyrics and indicated languages back at YT)

The song was posted to the YT channel of 民主進步黨 Democratic Progressive Party, so maybe it is an official campaign song.

They’ll be playing this Sunday at a New Power Party event:

The song is part of an album called 台灣美樂地 Taiwan Melody, which is the election album for the 民進黨 Democratic Progressive Party presidential candidate 蔡英文 Tsai Ing-Wen. There was an online call for songs and 13 songs were chosen.

Taiwan’s general election is on January 16, 2016. This election will determine the President and Vice-President, as well as all the legislative representatives.

The New Power Party event is for 黃國昌 Huang Kuo-chang, a legislative candidate for 新北市 New Taipei City.

Big thank you to @tradchinesechars for the background information!

Quite a difference from election cycles in America, when bands routinely issue cease & desist orders to candidates who try to use their songs at campaign rallies. (Check out that list!!)

Imma check out some of those other song submissions.  =D
