I just had a silly thought of going to a live house box office in Taipei and trying to buy a ticket to see a band. o.0
I think it could be confusing for them and frustrating for me if I said, (for example) “EveryPlanet”. They would probably give me a blank stare, LOL.
But if I could say, “Měiwèi xīngqiú”, that might prove successful. =D

Here’s a new artist that I first heard from stayinblue, a few months ago.
ANN (白安) Bai Ann from Taipei.
I’ve seen some comments about a similarity to the singer Dido, and I can see that. Definitely in her easy vocal slide into falsetto that Dido does so well. And they both work in the area of singer/songwriter pop.
The Catcher In The Rye is the title track from her debut album. If all pop was this good, the world would be a better place.
It appears from fb that ANN is in Hong Kong for rehearsals and a concert. I hope to see some video from this. The only live clips I’ve seen from her are singing along with backing tracks or an offstage accompaniment.

This is Swing Shine (上海香颂), a side project (since 2010) of Lin Di of Cold Fairyland.
The style description from bandcamp: Swing Shine formed in 2010 by French musician Jeremy Lasry and Chinese Musician LinDi. Their concept is about mixing some old Chinese songs with modern gypsy style as well as writing new lyrics in Chinese on French popular songs.
They have another album, more recent, called 无根之云 / Rootless Clouds. I just listened to that album tonight, and it is just as beautiful as the first, maybe even more so!

I think katncandix2 are breaking up, after 6 years together. (From when ball was only 16!) 😦
Looking at Ball’s Facebook (莊鵑瑛), she seems to be saying that there was a meeting late last night to decide whether to continue to perform or go their separate ways.
And I think Ball will also be leaving 2375 Studio (2375 工作室). Jeepers, I only just figured out yesterday what that was.
If I get a clearer picture of what’s happening, I’ll update. This is really a bummer.

The Next Big Thing 2011：川秋沙 ｜少年花 (by TheNextBigThingTW)

This is Goosander (川秋沙) from 2011, when they were still a 4 piece, with Yvonne Ong (翁宜襄), doing lead vocal & keys.
Her departure made for a shift in style for the band, they are much heavier now, at least in the clips I’ve seen.
I have SEARCHED the Goosander sites (Indievox/Bandcamp/Facebook) for any mention of her leaving the band, but I’ve found nothing. Not even any cryptic messages, lol. I think she left in summer of 2012.
If anyone has any info on Yvonne, I would appreciate it, thank you!
